Greenman3610 takes on the idea that wind energy is not as efficient in this video and explains why cutting funding to the growing industry would be a bad idea.

Crazy March
By now most people probably know that NOAA has said that March 2012 was the warmest March on record, well if you are wondering why Greenman3610 has a great two part video series, below, explaining why.

Interview of Dr. Hayhoe
Another video, this time by Greenman3610, is an interview with Dr. Katharine Hayhoe from Texas Tech University. It is sad some of the intimidation that she has had to face because she dared say that the climate is in fact warming and we are likely the cause of it. Having met her a couple of times I know she is extremely nice and I can't imagine why people would act like this other than to discourage her continued research.

Sea Level Rise
One last video and then I will try to get some posts with actual substance (who am I kidding right?). This is another one by Greenman3610 in which he interviews the actual scientists at December's annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and discusses the potential sea level rise if the climate keeps changing at the current rate.

Mini Ice Age?
Again the answer is NO! and in the video below Greenman3610 lets the experts explain why, along with pointing out the distortion and lies put forth about it. I know 2 climate change videos/posts in one day I am asking for it aren't I.
Its all the Sun's Fault!
Anyone who has had a discussion with people who deny that humans are causing climate change has surely heard this one before, even if the person doesn't believe the climate is actually changing they will find a way to work in a, "Well even if it is it is all the sun's fault anyway!" There is no doubt as a geologist that the sun is the largest driving force behind climate and this can be traced back through geologic time. The question then becomes well if in the past the sun caused climate change, although not always just the sun itself sometime with the help of how the earth was rotating the sun (we can discuss this at a later date if you want), is the sun doing stuff now that could be causing climate change? The simple answer is NO but I will let Greenman3610 take it from here.

The Hockey Stick Graph is not all there is
I have heard the claim many times in the past that the only reason that we think that climate change is happening is because of the famous hockey stick graph done by Michael Mann and the rest of his research team. Well that isn't true and Greenman3610 does a great job breaking down that argument and showing what evidence there actually is.

Drought and Climate Change
Another great video by Greenman3610 talking about how climate change is effecting the drought that is destroying agriculture in much of Texas right now.

The "BEST" Climate Data
I have been quite busy this month and don't expect that to slow down any time soon but I will try to get a few posts together before I leave town for a few days early next week. Anyway I am sure most of you have heard that the UC Berkeley team released their climate data earlier this week and, shocking to no one but the climate change denialists, it feel in line with all previous climate change data. Greenman3610 was quick to put out a video to show this and it is up to his normal quality.

2011 Arctic Sea Ice Minimum
So it appears we have reached the sea ice minimum for 2011 and it is depressingly low, close to the record low of 2007. Greenman3610 has a video wrapping up the sea ice minimum for the year.
Below the fold is a video by NASA explaining the importance of Arctic sea ice, I figured 2 videos in one post on my main page would probably slow down the page loading too much

I Want One!
Having more and more energy efficient houses and buildings is beneficial not just to the people who make the technology but in the long run to the people who live in the houses as Greenman3610 shows in his latest video. We have been seeing over the last few years more and more houses like these popping up around the country and as far as houses are concerned it is definitely the wave of the future. As the title of my post suggests I would really like one but that isn't going to happen for sometime. Right now though I would just take a more energy efficient apartment building but right now most apartments don't have any reason to make their buildings more energy efficient, why should they in order to maximize profit for them they need must put in the cheapest stuff available and fix broken parts with cheap parts. I want to make something clear that I don't have a problem with them trying to make a profit but I feel you could charge more rent if people didn't have to pay as much for their utilities they would want to move into your place, ok that is the end of that rant but hey its my blog. Enjoy the video.

It has been a hot one
This summer for much of the United States has been record breakingly hot. Greenman3610 goes to show how this fits in with what we know about climate change in his newest video. Now I should point out, as I have in the past, that one single hot event does not signal Global Warming/Climate Change, but it is when we continual set or get close to setting records year after year. The way this year is going it looks like yet another summer in that will be in the top 10 for temperatures.

Energy Efficiency
Greenman3610 has a new video out showing that even if politicians don't want to believe it companies and private individuals have been slowly trying to become more efficient in their energy usage.

Feedback Mechanisms
Greenman3610's newest video discusses orbital forcing and feedback mechanisms and how climate change denialists try to manipulate these ideas to cast doubt on climate change.

Climategate Answered
So I know that there has been a video about this before but this new one by Greenman3610 is extremely well researched and as with all of his videos is very well expressed.

Climate Change and National Security
A lot of hard core climate deniers will not listen to the experts no matter how much evidence they present. At the same time a lot of these same people say that we should listen to our military more. Well in the United States the people who know the most about the world's oceans militarily are in the United States Navy and who would know the most in the entire Navy but the Chief Oceanographer. Below are two videos, posted by Greenman3610, of the Navy's Chief Oceanographer, Admiral David Titley, on the importance in understanding climate change.

What does the Ice say?
Another piece of the on going Climate Denial Crock of the Week by Greenman3610 takes on the climate change deniers who say the ice cores tell us that the world has been much warmer.

Cherry Picking Data
When trying to determine long term climate trends all of the data for the planets climate must be taken into account. Many climate deniers choose to ignore data which does not fit their view on climate change. instead they choose things like well it is cold so that clearly means climate change isn't occurring, all the while ignoring data like this. Greenman3610 show another example of this in a recent video, below, and blog post.

Was Greenland Ever Ice Free?
The short answer is, Yes, but before the climate change deniers start getting too excited this was millions of year ago during a period that would not be considered icehouse conditions, like what we are in now. Anyway the ice cores we can get from Greenland and elsewhere show us just how big an effect we are having on the climate as Greenman3610 points out in his newest video.

2010 was the Warmest Year on Record
Well it was at least tied with 2005 that is according to studies released by NASA (their study released for the Meteorological Year which ended November 30th says the same thing) and NOAA. According to the USA Today article covering the news:
The Earth's average temperature in 2010, as in 2005, was 58.12 degrees, which is 1.12 degrees above the 20th-century average of 57 degrees.Greenman3610 at the climate crock blog does a better job breaking this down than I could have so head over there to read up on it.
It was the 34th consecutive year that the global temperature was above average, according to the data center. The last below-average year was 1976
